Last week was MY LAST WEEK OF COLLEGE.
I spent most of last week working on final papers, although I had my first midterm on Friday (it was Chinese Poetry though, so no problem at all). I also got some nifty end-of-year English awards: my short story got 3rd place in the fiction prize, honorable mention for poetry, and a citation for outstanding performance in the major, which came with a snazzy UCD English mug! I also picked up a copy of the newest issue of the UC-wide Matchbox Magazine, which includes my short story and poem!!!
LAST SCHOOL RECAP OF UNDERGRAD OH MY GOD IT’S REALLY HAPPENING
Just reviewed for the final in American Lit. Finished Troilus and Criseyde in Chaucer. Ariana Reine’s “Science Fiction” in American Poetry, and also we wrote our own poems and the prof read them on the last day of class (he said mine was “pretty good”!) Managed to tear through Mang Ke, Shu Ting, Gu Cheng, Liang Xiaobin, Xia Yu, and Chen Feiwen in Chinese Poetry!
Listened to Chuck Berry’s posthumously released final album, Sufjan’s/the guy from the National’s/some other people’s super album Planetarium (which is too long but I like it), and, yes, Taylor Swift on Spotify.
Watched the “Beware the Gray Ghost” episode of Batman: The Animated Series as well as the 1966 Batman movie, in memoriam of Adam West 😦 RIP Bright Knight!
