This week was pretty eventful. I had a few midterms, got papers back, did volunteer tabling at events, and applied for postgrad plans–hopefully I can say more about that soon, but yeah, eventful.
This weekend was pretty nice. On Friday, I stopped by the Whole Earth Festival and bought some cool things, like pesto fries, handmade jewelry (including a heart-shaped locket made with a vintage map of Davis–something to remember this town by), a palm reading, and an adorable crochet octopus (!) Then on Saturday, I went with my housemates to the newly opened Daiso in Sacramento! I bought lots of reasonably priced yet very aesthetic Asian accessories and delicious snacks, and got to spend time in the Barnes & Noble next-door afterward. It was cool.
Adrian C. Louis and Adrienne Rich’s “Diving into the Wreck” in Contemporary American Poetry. Harlem Renaissance poetry and Nella Larsen’s Passing in American Lit. Started modern Chinese poetry with Hu Shi and Xu Zhimo.
Read and reviewed my ARC of Julie C. Dao’s FOREST OF A THOUSAND LANTERNS! Listened to Ted Leo & The Pharmacists’ great Shake the Sheets album.
