Poetry in Motion: Life and Death in a Chinese Supermarket

It’s World Poetry Day! In honor of the event, I decided to compose a quick new poem. Hope you enjoy!

LIFE AND DEATH IN A CHINESE SUPERMARKET

With the ritual grace of a suicide, I come home

To salted jellyfish and mountain

Tea cake, operatic warblings and

A Western Food aisle. I’ve come

To miss it, even the fish

Cramped as menstrual legs, in death rows.
